I'm backkk!

Well, well. Its been quite some time since I've last blogged. I've decided that its time for me to share my crazy adventures with whomever, Laura, reads this! So basically I've been super involved in Kickball, which unlike last year, is FUN! Of course its always more fun to win, but we have a great group of girls that are so great...well when they make it to games! I'm only kidding! Hopefully I'll have some pictures to post soon! We have another game tonight, hopefully another win!

Another project I've been getting into is baking! I made some mummy cupcakes last week, that were delicious! They didn't look exactly the way I wanted, but I'm getting the hang of things! My next project will be this weekend for JTA HOMECOMING Tailgate! Hopefully I won't get sick at this one and be forced to drink or have water thrown at me, or worse....the wrath of SLAURA!

Holy Jeeze

I have to start with saying how super stoked I am that Matt found a channel that shows Curling! Call me a super dork all you want, but Curling is by far, my favorite Winter Olympic sport. I think it has a lot to do with my love for shuffleboard, that I spent a lot of time playing at The Club and Legion in K-town. If you don't know what Curling is, take some time to put it on CNBC and check it out. Its great.

Life has been work work work for me. I've gone from 4-10's to 5-10's to 5-11's to 5-11's and a half day on the weekend. Usually, the project starts winding down as it nears the turn over date, but I feel as if we're just getting started. Of course, this is my first major project and I'm still learning the process of things. I can't complain though, I love my job, and I love learning new things. Its a win win for me! Plus, I have things that help get me through the week, like Wine Wednesday's that are still going strong. We are adding more and more people to our once small get together, which is awesome. I'm so lucky to have such an amazing group of friends and a wonderful husband to spend my time with.

Matt's Happy Happy Birthday!

Matt turned 32 on Sunday! Whoo hoo!

Thanks to Laura's fabulous idea, I threw him a surprise party. I am horrible with surprises, but I managed to keep my mouth shut and pull it off! The hunt for party supplies turned out better than I ever could have expected! I headed on over to the birthday section in hunt of a banner, and hit the jackpot! 2 words: Jonas Brothers! Banners, tablecloths, souvenirs cups, backstage pass (for the birthday boy), rocking bracelets, and temporary tattoos! No, he is not big Gay Al, nor a pedophile, but what could be funnier than The Jonas Brothers for a 32 year old man! It was pure awesome-ness. Of course, having our amazing friends and family show up was the absolute best. It means so much to have had everyone we love celebrate with us. Thanks again to all those who came and most of all to my beautiful friend Laura! I love you all so much!

Makenna Smiles and JAGER!

Its been some time since my last posting. Not by choice. When I first started this, I figured I'd post at least every other day. Then....life caught up with me. Work has been really crazy, which I can't even begin to explain. To say the least, the actual labor, no thanks to me, is really coming along. It may just be boring construction stuff to most, but I find it fascinating what has become of a blank space. I wish that I could show you what I am talking about, but no cameras are allowed! That being said, I was in the middle of another mind boggling work thing when these pictures were sent to me:

Now tell me these don't make your day. I added them to my phone screen saver so I can see this beautiful face every time I look at my phone. My beautiful niece, Makenna turned 3 months old today. I finally had the chance to meet her on Christmas day. She is just as happy and beautiful as she looks. I can't wait to kiss those chubby cheeks this summer! And of course, see my best friend Francie!

Here's another cute face that makes me smile! This cute boy will be turning 32 this Sunday! So far no big plans, but for all that know Matt, you know that's how he rolls! Just go with the flow! I've been lucky enough to spend the past 6 birthdays with him, and they are never dull! So in the words of Matt Bars, "JAGER!! (blahhhhh)

2010 Here I Come!!

I kicked off 2010 with Matt and my family at the lake. My brother came to town with his 12 beautiful kids, OK he only has 4, but I like to exaggerate a bit. We had a huge bonfire and tons of fireworks. It did get a little out of control when my cousins and brothers started shooting bottle rockets at me! I usually have the worst aim in the world, but apparently 12 beers and champagne gives me excellent aim, which ended badly for my brother! January 1st was also Audric Birthday! Yes, we discovered that he is younger than me and that my cousin Tammy is a cougar! All in all, it was a total blast, as usual! I couldn't ask for a more bad ass family! Here are a few pics from the weekend:

Ashton & Diesel...he was scared of the fireworks

I have never been one to make New Years resolutions. I just really don't get them. I know that its a time to look at the past year and set goals to what we want to achieve or change for the upcoming year, but why is it made such a big deal on this particular day? I mean, why don't we make the changes as we go? Then, I read this quote that made me think, "Take a chance because you never know how perfect something could turn out to be." For me, 2010 is all about taking chances. I'm going to stand up for that raise or new job opportunity that I truly deserve, take that camping trip in the freezing weather because that's what Matt wants to do, learn to surf, jump off a dangerously high cliff in Hawaii... those are just a few to start. We only have one life, and its too short to live in carefully. So, watch out 2010! Here I come!

Rain. Rain. Rain me out!

Today, I returned from my "30" minute lunch to find that we had been rained out. At first this excited me, but then I remembered that I had a meeting at our main office at 2, which meant no rain out for Heather! However, the meeting went even better than I expected, which is a huge relief!
For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, let me explain. When it rains, I get to go home. Of course, my workday doesn't end there, because I have a laptop and am still capable of doing work. On the plus side, I get to put on my jammies and work from a comfy couch!
To say that I am a fan of Twilight is an understatement. Matt would say that I am obsessed. Well, I'm sure that he has some colorful things to say about it, but we won't bring that up now. So... I own all the books that consumed an entire week of my life. It took that long because Matt MADE me put them down to eat and bathe! Those who have read the books, understand the obsession. Anyhoo, I had heard rave revues from some very trusted sources that True Blood was fantastic, and that I would love it. Being the Twihard fan that I am, I was somewhat skeptical. I came across a mini marathon from the beginning last night, and decided to try it out. After 3 episodes I am hooked. Matt's still not sold on it. In fact, when he saw that I was watching my 3rd episode he said, "Really? Really Heather?" My reply was, "Really, Matt!" With that, he knew. 40 nights of basketball followed by the finals were coming up and he wasn't about to miss that. Mini marathon part deaux starts at 7! Yay!

A work in progress...

So, I'm beginning to think that there may be something to this whole blog thing. My curiosity began about a month ago over a game of Mexican train at T&L's house. I was going on with my usual rant about Laura quiting Facebook, (I mean come on! Who does that?), when she "politely" told me that she was now a blogger, and that I would have to check it out. Normally, I would just blow it off and go about my merry way, but her sister said it was funny, and some incriminating pictures were to be posted on her next blog....so I checked it out. I was hooked! Next thing I know, I'm checking on it everyday and texting her to post more. La la la la la...here I am! Stay tuned!
